Moisture Content All of our lumber is kiln dried to about 9% depending on the source and type of wood. The moisture content of wood is directly associated with the environment in which it is stored. The equilibrium moisture content (EMC) occurs when the wood has reached an equilibrium with its environment and is no longer gaining or losing moisture. Every one of our facilities is located in Arizona where there air is dry and the fluctuations in climate are mild. Therefore, the longer a wood has been at any of our facilities the closer it will be to it's EMC which will be quite low. The lumber will be more stable and the chances of checking and distorting will be minimal.
